Falak VIDEO PREMIERE
October and November have been exciting months for Falak. Falak veterans Farid and Zaed head to New York City to work with video director Sofian Khan. Falak entrusted YADEIN II to Sofian as the first Falak song to have its very own music video. Sofian, and his production house Blk Ink, have garnered immense critical acclaim with videos they have made for a number of US bands, as well as the Pakistani band, Jal. And to top it off, they're a great bunch of guys with an uncanny amount of talent.
The video shoot took place over two weeks and involves some incredible footage. Sofian's vision met with Falak's to create a video about the loss and suffering which unite us all in our common humanity. Another loss in the video is the on-screen absence of Raheel, Sid and Shibil who were unable to make it for the video shoot (with Shibil decidedly having the most valid reason of currently being a development worker in Kabul, Afghanistan. Or so he claims).
Despite the absences (or perhaps because of them), the video has far surpassed even our high expectations of Sofian and Blk Ink, and everyone else who has been involved with the video. To say we're excited about how it turned out is to say way too little. So we're bouncing off the walls and are in the process of some final tweaking. After which we will supply the video to television networks across Pakistan, India, Canada and the US, and really everywhere else we can. Within a couple of weeks you should be able to watch the video for yourself and figure out what we're so excited about. And when you watch it, be sure to call/email/write/fax/carrier pigeon us to let us know what you think, and do the same with the networks to tell them that you want them to keep circulating it. Once the video has had its TV debut, we promise to make it available for download on our website as well.
Finally, there have been rumours of Falak planning a tour or at least a couple of shows in Pakistan after the video release. We can neither confirm nor deny the rumours. Except to say that they are probably true.
Watch this space.
